Hancock: Sharon Ann (Budweg) White, 78, of Hancock, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 after a brief illness.

     She was born in Hancock on May 9, 1939 to Hans and Lembi (Kangas) Budweg. She attended Hancock Schools as a youth, attended Lewiston Montana Schools from 1950 to 1954, and then returned to Hancock from 10th grade to graduation. She worked with her sisters at Joe's Chicken Basket in Hancock in the late 1950's and was married to David Dye White in 1959.

     Sharon attended Michigan Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science in 1966. She also received a degree from the Mayo Clinic in Medical Technology in 1968. She moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin to take a job at St. Catherine's Hospital, where she retired as the Head of Microbiology.

     Sharon was of the Lutheran faith and attended bible study. She was a nature lover who had many animals at her home over the years which included dogs, cats, raccoons, hamsters, fish, and chameleons. Her hobbies included planting flowers, sewing doll clothes, playing cards with family and friends, painting pictures with oils and water colors, making ceramics, and building puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking, making pasties, nisu, chili, and was the inventor of the Spam Burger her special way. Camping, skiing, and vacationing with her family were special to her.   She liked to eat at the Kaleva and Apple Bees, and volunteered to prepare taxes for people.

     She was a very special and loving woman who loved deeply and gave love to all. She was extremely intelligent, very witty, and will be missed by all those she touched.

     She is survived by her children: Jay David White of Hancock, Rana Lynn White and Joanne Erb of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael and Cindy White of Kenosha, WI; her granddaughter Kara White of Kenosha, WI; a special niece, Barbara Bukovich (Jim) Parker of Hancock, and other nieces and nephews Joy (David) Riutta of Houghton, Robert (JoEllen) Budweg of Hunters, WA, Howard (Barbara) Budweg of Port Orchard, WA, Ronald (Kathy) Budweg of Kronnenwetter, WI, Greg (Tammy) Budweg of Hubbell, Jeff (Lori) Budweg of Hancock, and numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews, along with her very special lifelong friend, Jodi Hauswirth of Hancock.

     Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel White; 5 sisters: Helen Podnar, Margaret Bukovich, Ilona “Nonie” Weallens, Jean Hughes and Patricia Budweg; and 2 brothers: Robert Budweg and Ronald Budweg.

     The graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 22, in Section 5 of the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.  Arrangements are by the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock. To leave online condolences, please go to www.oneilldennisfh.com.
