Ann Arbor: Charlotte Ann (Coon) Olive, 81, formerly of Hancock and Ripley, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Ann Arbor. She died of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS).
Charlotte was born on March 10, 1936 in Hancock to the late Charles and Ethel (Tucker) Coon. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was a stay at home mother of five children. Once her children left home, she worked as a medical file clerk at the University of Michigan Hospital for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Olive in 2014, and her daughter, Renee Suzanne (Olive) Rothman in 2006. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters Barbara (Coon) Finch, Donald Coon, Janet (Coon) Eddleman, and David Coon.
She is survived by her children Cathy (Patrick) Dicks, Neil Olive, Patti Weaks, and Monica (Garry) Billick; her grandchildren Robert (Katie) Olive, Jarrod Olive, Jeremy Weaks, Ashlen Olive, Tyler Billick, Savannah Billick, and Kaitlyn Billick; brothers and sisters Balnche Erickson, Frank (Idella) Coon, Dorothy Carle, Ralph Coon, Paul Coon, Ethel Cartter, Donna (Terry) Whitesall, Virginia (Kelly) Pinten, Howard (Sharon) Coon, and Shirley (Jake) Skewes; and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Theron Dobson, the ALS Clinic at the U of M, Angela Hospice, and many friends and family for their help and support.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection of Hancock in the spring with interment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
