Claudia Maninnen Wasik Obituary

Pensacola, FL:  Claudia Maninnen Wasik, 65, formerly of the Copper Country, passed away on August 29, 2019 in Pensacola Florida following a brief illness.

     She was born in Detroit on March 8, 1954 to the late Bernard W. and Elizabeth (Grigg) Wasik. She was a 1970 graduate of Houghton High School. She later attended Adelphi Business College in Arizona. She was employed at various jobs throughout her lifetime. She love to sew, making much of her own clothes and clothing for other family members. She also enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, and camping.

     Claudia was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Calumet, Michigan.

     Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Casmir “King” Manninen; brothers Bernie and Gregory Wasik; and a sister, Florence Perkins.

     She is survived by a special friend, Bobby Rackley of Pensacola; children Jennifer Manninen, Michael Manninen, Stephanie Manninen, and Kellyn Coon; a sister, Cecilia Wasik; and by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     Graveside services will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock with Reverend Father William Ssozi officiating.
