Dollar Bay:  Eileen V. Satushek, 101, formerly of Dollar Bay, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.

     Eileen was born in Dollar Bay on September 2, 1916 to the late John and Mary Satushek. She graduated from Dollar Bay High School in 1934 and from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Hancock in 1938. After graduation and receiving her Registered Nurse degree, she worked in the down-state area in hospitals and industry.

     Eileen retired from Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors Corporation as an Occupational Health Nurse and returned to make her home back in Dollar Bay. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, later becoming a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton. She was a member of the Leisure Timers group.

     Eileen was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, John, and Frank Satushek; and six sisters: Mae Tascott, Jeanette, Claire, and Edna Satushek, Agnes McGrath, and Eleanor Lundman. She is survived by several nephews and a niece as well as local friends, including Coletta Rose and Del Gentry.

     A prayer service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday at the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock with Rev. Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton. There will be no visitation at the request of the deceased.

     The O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock is in charge of the arrangements.
