Ian Hosking Obituary

On Friday, March 29th, Ian James Hosking left this Earth at the age  of 37 years old.

Ian was born on July 20th, 1981 to Valerie Le Mieux and James Hosking, in the Copper Country. Ian enjoyed talking about his son and how proud of him he was, rock hounding, traveling to warm places, camping, hiking and boating.

Ian was known for his quick wit, his way of making people laugh, and the fact that he could sell anything to anyone. It was often said, that he could sell ice to an Eskimo. Ian could walk into a room, and the mood would automatically lighten. He wanted to take other's pain and absorb it into himself, which he did.

He spent the last few months of his life, helping his Grandma Jean, who loved to call him Ebe! He also loved giving her a "hard" time to keep her young. He would do anything to make her laugh.

Ian was proceeded in death by his father (Jim), his mother (Val), his maternal grandfather (Ron) and his paternal grandparents (Archie & Gladys), and his sister (Kelsey).

He is survived by his son: Gabe, his brothers: Duncan, Chanse, Shawn, and Trenton, His sisters: Shawna, Kady, and Alycia, his "Other" Parents: Steve and Cindy, His maternal Grandmother (Jean), As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all throughout the U.S.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where is friends and family will spread his ashes.

Ian was a great man with a beautiful but burdened soul, He's a man who lost his way here on Earth and landed in the arms of the Lord and all those who proceeded him in death. He is free of all of his Earthly burdens, and finally at peace.

Isaiah 40:30-31
Even those who are young grow weak;
young people can fall exhausted.
But those who trust in their Lord for help
will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles;
they will run and not get weary;
they will walk and not grow weak

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon their Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
