Barbara Jean Becker

Hancock: Barbara Jean Becker, 73, of Hancock, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at U.P. Health System-Marquette Hospital after a prolonged illness.

She was born in Hancock on April 30, 1951 to the late Paul and Katherine (Zerbst) Oikarinen. She attended Hancock Schools and later earned an Associates Degree from Suomi College. She lived much of her later years in Hancock. She enjoyed the outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and rock hunting. She was also an animal lover.

She is survived by a daughter, Bridget Becker of Chassell; two grandsons: Halverson Gemignani and William Becker; a sister, Mary Lou (Jack) Sprietzer; a brother, Paul (Marsha) Oikarinen; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
