Beverly Jean Simonson

Beverly Jean Simonson, age 99, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 2, 2025, in Calumet, MI

Jean was born in Laurium, MI on September 12, 1926, to Russell and Melvina Brown. She married Robert Simonson on 6/22/1946 and they raised two sons together. Jean and Robert spent many seasons at their summer cabin at Agate Harbor and enjoyed sharing their ‘happy place’ with friends and family, and sweet memories were made and remembered. Jean and Robert loved to travel and were able to visit several foreign places after retirement. Jean loved compiling scrapbooks of souvenirs and pictures taken by her husband of the wonderful trips they shared.

Jean’s greatest legacy lies in the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She was a bottomless well of unconditional love, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and was cherished by her extended family. Her honesty, loyalty, and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Melvina Brown; her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Simonson; her son, Kent Simonson; her infant grandson, Rusty Simonson; and her sister, Margaret Vitton.

Jean is survived by her son Robert (Robin) Simonson of Whitehouse, TX; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Carrasco of Woodridge, IL; special friend, Peggy Netznik of Eagle Harbor, MI; four grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Jean’s life and graveside service will be held at a later date.
