Clifford James O'Donnell

Hancock: Clifford James O'Donnell, Jr., 85, formerly of Hancock now residing at the Bluffs Senior Community in Houghton, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at U.P. Health System Hospital in Marquette.

He was born on June 26, 1939 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Clifford James Sr. and Bernice Jean (Brazeau) O'Donnell. He graduated from Holy Name of Jesus High School in Escanaba and later from St. Norbert's College in De Pere, Wisconsin. Clifford worked as the Manager at the Michigan Employment Security Commission in Houghton until his retirement.

He married Barbara Joan Spaulding on April 15, 1967. She preceded him in death.

Years ago, he belonged to the MTU Gates Tennis Center League and Hancock Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and baseball (especially the Detroit Tigers). He enjoyed being at all his grandchildren's school, sports, and extracurricular events. He was a big fan of the Hancock Bulldogs.

Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter-Anne Christine O'Donnell, a sister-Jacqueline O'Donnell (Gallagher), and brothers-in-law-Peter Kutches and Lester Gallagher.

He is survived by a Daughter-Laura Kathleen O'Donnell (Dan Lampela), Grandchildren- Emily (Joe) Pindral and Tyler Turcotte, Great granddaughter-Kiara Mae Pindral, Sisters-Barbara O'Donnell (Kutches) and Deborah (Jim) Baker, and Brothers-Dennis O'Donnell and Michael (Patricia) O'Donnell.

Visitation will be held at the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5 until 7 P.M. Burial will be at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, Michigan with a graveside ceremony to be determined.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Anne C. O'Donnell Scholarship Fund through Escanaba High School.

He was very grateful for the care provided by the wonderful staff at the Bluffs Senior Community. He truly considered it his home.
