Daniel R. Kallio, 64, formerly of Dollar Bay, passed away on April 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell.
Danny was born on May 14, 1961, in Hancock to Ralph and Aili Kallio. He grew up in Dollar Bay and attended Dollar Bay High School. He later attended the Michigan Tech Skill Center, where he studied welding.
A true free spirit, Danny loved riding his mountain bike and could often be found exploring wherever his sense of adventure led him. He had a deep love for animals and was known for his big heart and gentle nature.
Danny is survived by his siblings: George Kallio of Hollis, Maine; Ron Kallio of Hancock; and Eleanor Bjerke of Oakdale, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Donny Kallio; and his brothers David and Paul Kallio. His also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock is assisting with arrangements. No funeral services will be held. Family and friends are invited to remember Danny in their own way and to honor a life lived with curiosity, kindness, and freedom.
