Frederica Verville Obituary

Hancock: Frederica A. Verville, 101, a life-long resident of Hancock, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 12, 2021 at Canal View – Houghton County.

She was born in Hancock on November 30, 1919 to the late Wilfred and Augusta (Brohn) Verville. She was a graduate of Hancock Central High School.

Frederica worked at several local jobs, before working as an accountant at Vollwerth and Company in Hancock for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Fred “Monk” Verville, Gerald Verville, Raymond Verville, and Douglas Verville; and by 2 sisters: Corinne Ruelle and Elaine Ruelle.

She is survived by a sister, Joyce Lenz of Florida, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Frederica was a unique lady. She was very independent and lived on her own for most of her life. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Church of the Resurrection with Reverend Father Jubish Joseph to officiate. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
