John Delbert Makela

Obituary

John Delbert Makela your life, it seems, just began when you left us. There were so many dreams to follow. So many things left unfinished. I just cant seem to focus on on the memories when you had so much life left to live. Your "dash" ended way too soon. 32 years wasn't enough time.

As I heard the words "John and Breanna are gone" all them memories came rushing back. Vividly seeing that monster truck video playing. You watched that crazy tape at least a million and 1 times. I see you jumping off the roof of the house after the cat. The countless wrestling matches between you and your cousins or you and Isaak on the trampoline. I hear your voice hollering "because stone cold said so" as if you were right here.

You growing up on Liminga Road was a blessing even though my 15 year old self didn't think so at the time. Papa and Mom, their hearts softened when you came to live with us. Papa smiled so much and laughed and just beamed with pride watching you grow up.  Our family got to witness so many special moments that now looking back...I'm glad I was there to see them for myself.

I remember like it was yesterday your first day of school, your first foot ball game, being there for your graduation.  All those proms. There were so many of those. Your first love and those in between. And then there was Breanna. She eventually stole your heart. On August 17,2019 she finally stole your last name.  The friendships that you made over the years...

Remembering mom asking you "did ya eat". I guess now that was her way of showing you she loved you.  Your Killer breakfasts you'd cook for us...
So many memories to share and so little paper to write them down on.  I will never understand why your "dash" had to end.

You will forever be missed by:
Your mom Tamara Bruneau
Your father Burton (Pam) Heikkila
Sisters Marrissa, Francesca, Amanda (Mariah), Michelle (Justin), Brittany, Christine (Tyler and little Gyneva) and Kayleigh.
Brothers Andy and Logan
Your Papa who you later called dad.
Your crazy aunts Tarri (Joe), Tonya (joe) and Laurie (Richard)
So many cousins who were more like brothers than cousins. All those childhood friends.

I find comfort in knowing your are with "mom" again. I know she was patiently waiting at the gates to ask you "did ya eat". She was there with Pig, Uncle Alan, and Troy. And I bet Troy is talking your ears off. I know you and Breves are safe and surrounded by those who left before you. Until we meet again....
