Obituary

Novi: Linda Sue (Kroll) Crump, R.N., 58, of Novi, Michigan and formerly of Hancock, passed away on December 25, 2022 under the hospice care of loved ones. She was born on August 25, 1964 in Marquette, Michigan; the adopted daughter of loving parents John F. and Carole S. (Hocking) Kroll. Linda was united in marriage to her soulmate Robert W. Crump on November 18, 2006; they were devoted to their love for over 16 years.

Linda grew up in Hancock and was a 1982 graduate of Hancock High School. After graduating she continued her education at Michigan Tech University where she received a general studies degree. During her years at Michigan Tech, Linda founded Alpha Xi Zeta Sorority. She truly loved growing up surrounded by the beauty of the Upper Peninsula.

Linda began a 35 year career as a nurse's aide at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. While working, she attended Wayne State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and was a certified Registered Nurse. Linda's caring in nature and devotion to others lead her to her calling from childhood. She was a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Linda enjoyed being outdoors; she often spent time camping, hiking, and kayaking. She enjoyed reading, theater, movies, and cross stitch. Linda took her time when traveling, stopping to see relatives or to go to antique shopping. Her philosophy in life was that it wasn't about the destination, it was about the journey. In her younger years, she traveled to Spain and was in awe of the beauty and fine details of art and architecture. Linda brought joy to everyone she met by just being herself--her childlike joy of the small things in life was infectious. She loved spending time with her family, pets, and friends. Linda was a happy and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, and friend.

She is survived by her husband Bob Crump; her brother Jeff (Vikki Huston) Kroll; and her nephew, Johnny Kroll. Linda is also survived by relatives and friends; too many to list who have loved and cared for her over the years.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Frifay, January 20, 2023 from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Casterline Funeral Home in Northville. An additional celebration of Linda's life will be held in the spring with the assistance of the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral in Hancock. Interment will be on her family lot at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
