Marie Therese Ross

Hancock – Marie Therese Ross, 78, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at JU.P. Health System Portage Hospital after a brief illness.

Marie, raised in Calumet, married Joe Ross on September 23, 1972. She worked at Michigan Tech as well as many years at D&N Bank. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock and was also apart of their Prayer Shawl Ministry and funeral lunch committee.

Marie was loving, welcoming, and a good listener. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Gervas O’Connell; sister, Pat O’Connell; and niece, Amy Weis.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; and children, Jennifer (Scott) Demske, Suzanne (Jeff) Kamper, Tom (Sandra) Ross, Will (Julie) Ross, and Brian (Megan) Ross; grandchildren, Tyler Demske, Nathan Demske, Abby Ross, Madelyn Ross, Ian Ross, Ross Demske, Lily Ross, Dominic Ross, Bella Ross, Kylie Kamper, Noah Kamper, Olivia Kamper, Gavin Ross, and Colin Kamper; brother Tom O’Connell; nephew, Jeffrey (Sam) O’Connell.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 31, at the Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Father Jubish Joseph to officiate. Spring burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
