Patrick Jay Beyers

Dollar Bay: Patrick Jay Beyers, 66, of Dollar Bay, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
     He was born in Hancock on December 14, 1953 to Francis and Edith (Somero) Beyers. He attended Saint Ignatius Loyola School in Houghton through eighth grade and graduated from Houghton High School. He then attended the automobile mechanics program at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. Pat was employed with the Houghton County Transit, and then worked as a lumber grader at Horner Flooring in Dollar Bay for 29 years.
     Pat was united in marriage to Debora L. Puska in 1973. He was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Dollar Bay.
     Pat loved to hunt deer and birds with his “boys”, and really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
     Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dawson, and by brothers Gerald Lanala, William Lanala, Gary Lanala, and Karl “Gussu” Beyers.
     He is survived by his wife, Debora of Dollar Bay; sons Patrick Beyers, Jr. of Hubbell, Craig Beyers of Dollar Bay, and Jamie Beyers of Dollar Bay; a daughter, Sasha (Jeffrey) Sartori of Washington; grandsons Jayden and Bradley; granddaughters Lacey and Aria; and his brother, Ronald Lanala.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Reverend Father William Ssozi to officiate. Interment will be in Alston Cemetery. There will be no visitation due to the pandemic.
