Hancock:  Roberta Susan “Bobbie” Kahn, 76, of Hancock, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on Monday, June 15, 2015.

     She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 1, 1939, a daughter of the late Nathan and Esther (Hoffman) Kulbarsh. Following graduation from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, she earned her Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

     On December 26, 1961 she married Richard Kahn in Glencoe, Illinois. She was employed as a social worker in Cook County, Illinois and in Seattle, Washington. Following the couples move to Hancock, she later earned her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Michigan Tech. For much her life, she was in charge of womens clothing purchases and was the assistant manager of Gartner's Department Store in Hancock until her retirement.

     She was a member of Temple Jacob in Hancock where she served as treasurer for many years. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and was a member of a book club. She enjoyed the family cottage at Lake Gerald, driving her ATV with her dogs, gardening, and reading books.

     Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Kahn, and her sister, Sheila.

     She is survived by her husband, Richard of Hancock; a son, Larry (Cindy) Kahn of Londonderry, NH; grandchildren Joshua and Rebecca; her dogs Bella and Scarlet; and by other relatives, neighbors, and many friends.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock with Rabbi David Freedman to officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.

     Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at 11 A.M.

     Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Temple Jacob, P.O. Box 273, Hancock, MI 49930 or the charity of the donor's choice.
