St. Louis, Missouri: Sister John Kenneth, CSJ, 91, passed away at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, Missouri on December 3, 2017.

Kathleen Linnea Scott was born on August 29, 1926 in Escanaba. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Marquette University in 1952 and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent in 1956.

Sister John Kenneth ministered at St. Joseph's Hospital in Kirkwood, MO and then at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hancock as a nursing educator. She earned her master's degree in nursing education administration from the Catholic University of America in 1965. Upon her return to St. Joseph's Hospital in Hancock she served as Director of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, also adding the duties of assistant administrator to the hospital.

She oversaw the closure of the nursing school and its transfer to Michigan Tech (later transferred to Finlandia University).

When St. Joseph's Hospital became St. Joseph's Community Hospital, Sister John Kenneth participated in that  transition as well.

After the Sister's Community left the Copper Country, she continued serving in a variety of administrative roles. Upon retiring in 2007, she resided at Nazareth Living Center where she carried out her ministry in prayer and presence.

A memorial mass was celebrated on December 7, 2017 at Nazareth Living Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sister's of St. Joseph's of Carondelet, St. Louis Province, 6400 Minnesota Ave., St. Louis, MO 63111.
