William Krieber Obituary

Houghton- William (Bill) Krieber, 90, of Houghton, passed peacefully of natural causes, with his wife of 65 years and family by his side, on August 4, 2020, in Traverse City.
He was 90 years old, having lived a full, wonderful life.
Bill was born an only child in Painesdale, on April 29, 1930, to Ernest and Gilda
(Gaggini) Krieber.  After graduation from Painesdale High School, Bill enlisted in the
military where he fought in the Korean War from 1950-1953.  After returning from his
deployment, he worked for Oldsmobile Motors in Lansing for a year before settling back in Houghton.  It was there he began his career with the Upper Peninsula Power Company, where he worked for 38 years.
On June 25, 1955, Bill married Marie Colombo of Calumet, and shortly after began their family of four children, Daniel, Mary Beth, Frank and Therese,  They spent 65 years building a beautiful life together.
Bill was a family man that had a passion for fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time at the family camp.  His love for dogs, especially German Shepherds, followed him
throughout his life.  You could always find him avidly painting or attending his child-
ren's events.  But his greatest strength was being a model father, grandfather and great
grandfather.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gilda Krieber. His wife, Marie,
has just passed away on August 11, 2020.
Bill is survived by his four children, Daniel (Barbara) Krieber of Traverse City, MaryBeth (Robert) Alexander of Upson, Wisconsin, Frank (Lisa) Krieber of Saline and Therese Johnson of Panama City, Florida.  He is also survived by his many grandchildren Christen (Mark) Cook,  Anthony (Jennifer) Williams,  Anna Krieber, Christine (Matthew) Vara, Katherine (Brendon) Moss, Andrew Krieber, Laura Krieber and Gavin Byorick; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass for Bill and Marie Krieber will be held at St. Ignatius Church on August 28, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.
