Think about you a lot today grandma. Reading your obituary and all the kind things everyone said about you brings back such great memories. I miss and love you so much. Zayleigh was asking for pictures of you today out of the blue so I had mom send me a bunch of you. I love you and miss you bunches

Dick,  we want you to know we will always be there for you and your family.  This day I have learned of the loss of my very best friend and soulmate from college.  Our days at Northern were full of happiness and joy.  The years following when you two married the day after us and then had your children at the same times as we did will always stay with me.  As we celebrate out 50th on June 23rd I will say a very special prayer for you and I know you will feel the presence of Mary by your side.  One day we will all rejoice with her in our heavenly home and until then I pray that God keeps all of us that loved her so much close to his heart.

We are so, so sorry that you must go through this terrible time, Dick. Mary was just the neatest person, and we are all the lesser for her passing, but it's nothing compared to losing your beloved. Our hearts go out to you.

Dear Dick and Family...

Sad news indeed.  So grateful we got to have dinner with you and Mary not too long ago.  Your 50th anniversary - June 24th - is still cause for celebration.  What great joy to know that Mary is in the arms of Our Lord.  And you dear one are embraced by this community.  You and Mary have been so good to this little part of the world.  We pray for a joyous reunion with Mary when your time comes.  In Jesus' name, be blessed.

Sincerely,  Tom and Cheryl Tervo

Ron and I are so sorry to hear of Mary's passing.  Mary was a very dear friend of ours and we will miss her smiling face.  Mary was an amazing woman who brought  joy to everyone she met.  She was always there for everyone and was a role model for many.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.  God's peace to all of you.  We will not be able to attend the visitation tonight but hope to be able to attend the celebration of her life on July 1st and share happy memories and great stories.  Hugs to all of you.

My condolences go out to the Tuisku family.  I had the pleasure of knowing Mary who will be truly missed by our community.  If more people were like Mary, this world would be a much better place.  Go in peace and serve the Lord Mary and keep that smile and goodwill going in that special place we all call Heaven.

Dear Dick you and Mary have been close friends for many years and it all started with you both reaching out to us when  we were relatively new in the community. This is something we will never forget. That said, our feelings toward you both are more like family and the shock of hearing about Mary's passing has put us both in mourning. Being over a thousand miles away does not make it possible for us to be there for the visitation , however, we think of you everyday and you and your family are in our daily prayers.

We are sad for the passing of our wonderful friend and concerned about how you are doing. Love you friend.

Dick and family,

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was such a lovely person. I always enjoyed chatting with her, whether at the radio station(s) or at City Hall. Many happy memories of our days in Hancock. You have my deepest sympathy.

My dearest American family. I was so sad to hear about mom’s passing. How I wish that I was there now with you to mourn and comfort. I will never forget when I as a quite scared 16 year old exchange student first arrived at your home and Mary said: ”Welcome, we are your family now and you can call me mom and this is dad…” And so it was that I came to meet you and all of Mary’s family and friends and everywhere we went she introduced me as her daughter. She had such a great, loving, kind and beautiful soul and I can still feel her love even now. When we last met, nothing had changed it seemed: she still called me her daughter and I called her mom - even after twenty years  of not seeing each other. Time doesn’t mean much, love does. Mom will always be in my loving memories.
Annika, Johanna and Sakarias.

Dick .
Henrietta and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.

I was fortunate to work with Mary on cable company requests when she was on the council and she was always thorough and fair. She was a great person and will be missed.

We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Dear Dick, children and grandchildren and the rest of Mary's family.

Please know that so many hearts surround you now in your time of grief. I send my heartfelt compassion and sympathy to you all as you say this earthly good-bye.
Mary was in my office on the day an officer walked in and told me that my husband had just died. This tragic event helped me feel a bond to her...I will always remember her support, compassion and love through it.

I was Blessed to know her.
Many Blessings to you all in this new chapter without her physical presence around you.

TODAY THE FAMILY OF ED AND FAYE WAKEHAM REMEMBERS YOU MOM, WIFE AND BEST FRIEND. YEARS AGO MARY PLAYED BASEBALL WITH MY SISTER NORMA WAKEHAM GUZEK, THEY BOTH PLAYED FOR THE HORNER HORNETS, AND MARY AND HER TEAM PRESENTED ME WITH THE NORMA GUZEK MEMORIAL TRAVELING TROPHY; WHEN SHE HAD PASSED AWAY FROM A AUTO ACCIDENT, I WOULD SEE MARY IN STORES AND SHE WOULD BRING BACK MEMORIES OF YEARS GONE BY PLAYING BASEBALL WITH MY SISTER AND THE REST OF THE BASEBALL PLAYERS. TAKE CARE AND THINKING OF YOU ALL AT THIS TIME, ED WAKEHAM ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU

Dick I am genuinely sorry for your loss.  You and Mary had great love, admiration and respect for each other.  Her loss is incalculable.  The Christian apologist C.S. Lewis after the death of his wife said, "Today's pain, is yesterday's happiness . . . and that's the deal!"  You are in my prayers.  May God grant you solace through wonderful memories.

Our heart-felt sympathies to Mary's family & friends. As kids in Lake Linden we were fortunate to hang out with Mary Jean & Jeannie and be the objects of their Mother's kindness & generosity. Mary is a fine example of what it means to create a (legacy) of service to Community & Region.

Dick, so sorry to learn of Mary's passing and the loss you've experienced.  After nearly 50 years of the two of you being together it's impossible to be ready for such a major change in one's life. We saw the Gazette article, and it was nice to see Mary recognized for some of the many things she accomplished (not the least of which was keeping you in line).  You and I worked together for a good many years and though we moved from the CC nearly 30 years ago, always managed to get back there once once a year.  Hang in there.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to Mary's family.  I will miss her coming into the Daily Mining Gazette to pick up Shopping Network certificates.  She was such a nice lady to talk with.  We shared many conversations about life in general.
It won't be the same without her.   Rest in Peace Mary until we meet up again one day!

There is something special about Mothers & Mother's Day. . . we are so blessed to have them & celebrate them.  Our memories of a loving woman at home give us comfort even after she is gone.  Three years ago a very dedicated D.J. & friend played the M.O.T.H.E.R. song on the radio & it was the last thing our mom probably heard on the Oldies Show that Sunday.  So I am sending you a million loving song notes to give you comfort on the loss of your dear Mary on this year's Mother's Day.  Our very sincere condolences from here in Ontario to a music man and his family circle.
