Houghton: Nancy A. Klingbeil, 73, of 1206 Maple Lane in Houghton, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Omega House in Houghton.
She was born in Hancock on November 8, 1944 to the late Leo R. “Doc” and Mary J. (Federighe) Lucchesi. She attended Hancock Schools and graduated from Hancock High School. She then attended Michigan Technological University and University of Michigan, graduating with a Master's Degree as a Media Specialist.
Nancy was devoted to her family. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton and also belonged to the Daughters of Italy. Nancy was an avid reader, was devoted to education. She taught at Lake Linden-Hubbel Schools for a time before becoming the Media Specialist at the Houghton-Portage Township Schools until her retirement. She enjoyed working with her students, and stood for her fellow teachers in their times of need. She made many friends along the way.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Doreen) Klingbeil of Houghton; her sister Jeanne (Al) Scargall of Lake Linden; and by nieces and nephews: Jennifer Scargall, Sara (Zach) Poag, Molly Scargall, Michael Scargall, and Anthony Scargall; and by numerous cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Ignatius Loyola Church with Rev. Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the 11 A.M. time of services.
