Angelina C. Goudge

Hancock: Angelina C. Goudge, 99, a lifelong resident of Quincy Hill, passed away on Friday morning, August 28, 2015 at the Houghton County Medical Care facility in Hancock.

She was born in Coburntown on July 15, 1916, a daughter of the late Michael and Marian (Chiabotti) Balma and she attended the Pewabic School.

On February 13, 1937 she married Harry Goudge. He died on January 2, 1991. They were married nearly 54 years.

She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church before transferring to the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock. She loved to dance and play cards. She enjoyed her flower gardens and was known to pile wood until recently when her health declined. Family was very important to her as she loved being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter Mabel Liimatta; brothers James, Hector, Albert, Edward, John, and Frank; sons-in-law James O'Connell, James Bezotte, and Paul Liimatta; daughter-in-law Patricia (Archambeau) Goudge; and a grandson, Brandon.

She is survived by her daughters Marion O'Connell of Hancock, Elizabeth (Nick) Mandoli of Cloquet, MN, Josephine (Richard) Kangas of Hancock, and Ruth Ann (Daniel) Dulong of Hancock; sons William (Marlene) Goudge of Hancock, Michael (Jean DeRoche) Goudge of Hancock, and Robert (Wanda Ollanketo) Goudge of Hancock; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Rev. Fr. Francis G. Dobrzenski to officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.

Friends may call at the church in the Mt. Carmel room from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
