Hancock: Dianne G. Wyllie, 70, of Hancock, passed away unexpectedly at U.P. Health Systems-Marquette on Monday evening, April 3, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Hancock on June 10, 1946 to the late Bruce and Perena (Pera) Wyllie. She graduated from Hancock High School in 1964.
Dianne was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock where she was a CCD teacher for many years, was a member of the prayer shawl ministry, the Parish Council, and funeral lunch committee. She volunteered at Little Brothers~Friends of the Elderly, Portage Pointe, Operation Friendship, and the RSVP group. She also worked for the Democratic Party and was a chaperone for the Copper Country Band and Drill Team.
She loved animals, and was a baby sitter to her special family of Kathy and David Doll's children Shawn, Luke, and Annalise.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James Wyllie; uncle Leedio and aunt Zade “Sis” Pera; a cousin, Dennis Pera; and her aunt and uncle Dena and Paul Ozanich.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gloria Wyllie of Hancock; a niece Leann (Mark) Kirch-Gagnon of Ishpeming; great nephew Brett Kirch; great-nieces Bailey Kirch and Ashley Gagnon and great-great-nephew Ethan who was the sunshine of her life. She is also survived by her cousins, Winifred “Honey” Caviggiola, David Caviggloia, Frank Ozanich, Julie Rickard, and Brian Pera.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Fr. William Ssozi to officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 until 10:45 A.M. before the service at the church. Spring burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
The O'Neill-Dennis Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to her family.
