Boston Location: Jean Elizabeth (Girgen) Junkin, 68, of Boston Location, passed away at her home with her family by her side on June 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness with MS and congestive heart failure.

          She was born on April 16, 1948, in Hancock, a daughter of Raymond “Butch” and Mildred Girgen.  In 1966, she graduated sixth in her class at Hancock High School.  She worked as a secretary for over 30 years.

          She was married to Howard Dale Junkin on March 9, 1968. 

She was a master accordion player and a skilled trombone player.  She loved knitting, crocheting, sewing and working as a seamstress.  She was also very interested in genealogy.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, nana, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, and a sister Betty (John) Ravasz.

She is survived by: her husband-Howard Dale Junkin; son-Dale (Dorothy) Junkin of Lake Linden, 2 daughters-Tami (Scott) Hiltunen of Dollar Bay and Vicki (Jeff) Waatti of Calumet; grandchildren-Elizabeth, Sarah (John), Dylan, Shelby (Cevin) Tanya, Katie, Jade, and Brooke; great-grandchildren-Octavyus, John William, and Adalynn; a brother-Milton (Jean) Harvey of Marquette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many special friends.

The funeral will be at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 19 at the O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Amy Terhune to officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
