I remember Wally from High School when all of us "Hill kids" had to walk down to the high school in Hancock.  Because of our last names we always sat near by.  He was such a polite guy - he always let us girls leave the row first.  Even when he wanted to get in the hall way to meet up with the girl who really always brought out that big, big smile !  Rest in peace, dear class mate.   Corinne Plassa

So sorry for your loss, from all the members of the Quincy Franklin Hancock TWP. Fire Department. Wally was our Fire Department Treasurer for many years. My uncle, who took over for Wally often quotes what he told him that day. He handed him the check book and said "Mike , there is $13.78 don't spend it all one bill" It is just amazing what we have today, all the newer modern equipment along with a new state of the art Fire Station. On another note I remember growing up on the Hill, always waiting and looking for the mailman cause he always had a treat for us kids. If it wasn't a butterscotch disc or a caramel, it was an anise square which I think was from his own secret stash, he always had something for us. What a Great man.

I was saddened to see Wally's obituary, but also know he is finally at peace and in the company of our Lord and many loved ones.  He and his family were good neighbors..I remember my mother and Martha's get-togethers over coffee, and how I was privileged to sit in on them.  I always thought Wally was a great guy and was happy to see what a wonderful woman he married.  God bless you and your family with much peace...know that you will see Wally again and never ever have to say goodbye again...in Christ's love and peace, Kathy Alatalo Schuck
